Firstly the area to be paved is thoroughly surveyed - to avoid any future problems with water runoff; if the ground requires it, we will install new drainage prior to laying the sub-base, along with new manholes if required. The paving is then laid on sharp sand - which provides for a firm fix, yet will also bed in, allowing for slight movement due to vehicular traffic and footfall.
